I’m Jeniah, a passionate software engineer who’s been on a mission not only to sharpen my skills but also to help women break into tech through HerTechLegacy. I started this blog to share my journey, offer advice, and document the ups and downs of being a woman in tech, balancing multiple roles, and working to bring more diversity into this incredible field.
A Little About Me and My Journey
Becoming a software engineer has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. I started with a love for problem-solving and creativity, which naturally led me to explore coding. However, like many, I faced countless hurdles along the way—from not knowing where to start to feeling overwhelmed by the volume of information available.
One of the biggest challenges was juggling multiple responsibilities while trying to stay consistent with my learning. But with persistence and a clear goal in mind, I’m proud to say that I’ve reached a point where I’m actively contributing to the tech world, and I’m still growing every day.
What I’m Working on Now
Currently, I’m focused on mastering React.js, which is something that took me a while to wrap my head around. It’s been an exciting (and sometimes frustrating) challenge, but I know that overcoming these obstacles will make me a better engineer. Along with React, I’ve been diving into API integration, trying to solidify my full-stack skills, and learning to navigate the complexities of Redux. This journey isn’t always easy, but every hurdle brings me closer to becoming the engineer I aspire to be.
Through HerTechLegacy, I’m not just learning for myself. I’m also documenting every step so that I can offer real, practical advice for other people who are navigating this same path. Whether you're struggling with coding fundamentals or trying to break into tech from a non-traditional background, I want to help you feel less alone in this journey. I am also focused on creating engaging and useful content across multiple platforms to grow a community.

HerTechLegacy was born out of my desire to create a supportive community for women who want to break into tech but don’t know where to start. After almost two years in the tech industry, I’ve learned that the journey isn’t just about mastering code; it’s about finding the right resources, building the right mindset, and having a network of people who support you.
